A pioneer in electronic music, Suzanne Ciani is a Grammy-nominated composer who rose to fame in the 1970s for her innovative soundscapes in film scores and commercials. She's also known for her work with early synthesizers and is considered as one of the most influential figures in the realm of electronic music.
Her 2020 live album, titled “A Sonic Womb”, features Ciani performing on a Buchla modular synthesizer, showcasing her electronic music mastery and signature soundscapes. This live performance captures her creativity and skill in manipulating and layering electronic sounds to create an immersive and potentially evocative experience.
The aim was to visually capture the essence of seamlessly layering sounds, translating the sonic experience into a captivating visual form. Toying with this idea came many visual directions of all different mediums. In the end, the visual direction chosen incorporates an interplay of circles, each traveling within each other, mimicking the smooth merging of sound waves in perfect harmony.
